FIXTURES
Friday 10 June 2022
Saturday 11 June 2022

(%): National Average  E: Entries  R: Rides

COURSE: Left-handed, flat. In essence, a very fair track, ideal for the long-striding galloper. In recent seasons, the field tends to come more down the centre of the track than has historically been the case, particularly if conditions are testing.

FAVOURITES:  Winning favourites at York over the past 5 years show 163-498 for 32.73% and a level stake profit of +£0.40. Best category albeit from a small sample, is 4yo+ favourites in non-handicaps showing 29-55 for 53% (+11.89).

TRAINERS: Richard Fahey and Tim Easterby are the top two trainers at the track from a winner's perspective, but they are the volume masters, and score at just 8% – a percentage we cannot get involved in no matter the circumstances! That said, and in total contradiction, our top 4 trainers at the track have 13 entries and one imagine one or two of those will win and one at a big price! William Haggas has 2 runners in AROUSING 3.00 & MOHAAFETH 3.30 and both have place claims and probably better than that!

JOCKEYS: There are 4 jockeys of interest riding at York tomorrow, they include Danny Tudhope (17%) who has 5 rides, Jim Crowley (19%) has 3 rides & David Allan (12%) has 2 rides. There must surely be winners from this trio!

Jack Mitchell (17%) is currently 2-36 for just 6% and currently 0-19 over 7 days. We never ever use the word luck on this site, but he has done very little wrong recently and been most unfortunate. Expect him to go on a winning run sooner rather than later! He has 3 rides tomorrow.

OWNERS: Godolphin (24%) have 2 entries courtesy of Charlie Appleby (29%), they are VALIANT PRINCE & ART DU VAL 3.30. These owners are only 14% at the track for some reason…

FINALLY: There are horses with the name Harry running at York tomorrow and both make it onto our pertinence board.

JASON WEAVER on YORK Because they can start racing from a long way out at York, which is a big galloping track, sometimes the last one to challenge has an advantage. Some people think it suits front-runners, but more often than not the one in the lead will get picked off at around the 1f marker. There’s no doubt it’s a quality course, though, wide, with no ridges, lovely sweeping turns and no draw bias. It can become very testing when the ground gets soft – it is KnavesMIRE, after all – and then it really takes some getting.
