March Acorns – The Stronger Sex

Yes, we know, it is that time of year again and everything gears toward the Cheltenham Festival.

Last year some were amazed that the Festival went ahead, let alone with the crowds being allowed in, but this time around it will be an all the quieter affair, and there will be no roar to carry the horses and their jockeys up the famous hill.

Here in the Acorns corner, we try to take a different approach to our research and, carrying on in a similar vein to last month, we are going to look at the fairer sex and their successes, if any, at the Cheltenham Festival.

The Horses

Looking back at the past 3 years Festivals we can see below that had we concentrated our attentions within the realms of the fillies and mares you could have happily backed them blindly and turned a profit, even with a lowly strike rate of just 7.98%.

The lowly strike rate suggests that there must be a couple of larger priced winners in that little lot somewhere.

Year on year the figures look like this:

The past couple of years have thrown in some not to be sniffed at profits using BFSP.

BUT we need to avoid any female runners in any chase races other than the Novice Chases, their rate of success is poor.

The 13 winners over the past 3 years have come from the following stables which may come as little surprise to many.

There have been a few shorter priced favourites over the years but there have also been an equal number of healthy double figure priced winners.

With 28 days to go at the time of writing, entries are numerous and what the final runners and their entries will look like from these stables is unclear, however we will put together a list of the qualifiers nearer the time and post these each day in the Platinum members area.
