Daily Racing Brief

Surprise surprise, ITV Racing Tips had a winning day yesterday. The offer I mentioned yesterday is still active as I type this but will be gone once IT Tom pulls his finger out!

I don't know if you've been following the Facebook Daily Racing Brief, it has been doing very well and won't be free forever.

Saturday 11 July — Super Saturday with York and Newmarket delivering some of the best racing of the summer. Five selections across the card.

**CERULEAN BAY** — 2:39 York, 3/1

David O'Meara and Danny Tudhope are one of the sharpest combinations in the north, and they know York better than almost anyone. Cerulean Bay has won over course and distance this season and arrives fit and well off an unchanged mark. Expect him to take all the beating in this competitive field.

**MOONFALL** — 2:52 Newmarket, 5/2

George Boughey's Britannia Stakes winner at Royal Ascot comes back to Newmarket carrying just 7lbs extra for that Ascot performance — a modest penalty for a quality handicap win. Billy Loughnane takes the ride and the Boughey yard is hitting form at the July Festival.

**NAANA'S SHADOW** — 3:12 York (City Walls Stakes), 18/1 — WIN & PLACE (BETFAIR)

York specialist with a win and a placed run at the track this season. Katie Scott's filly lines up in the Listed City Walls Stakes, a 14-runner sprint where the each-way terms at 18/1 offer outstanding value. The price alone makes this worth a small each-way investment.

**WARRANT HOLDER** — 3:45 York (John Smith's Cup), 4/1

Racing Post Handicappers' NAP. John & Thady Gosden have managed this horse beautifully — a C&D win in May, then an excellent second at Royal Ascot, both races run off the same mark of 111. Robert Havlin, who partnered him on both occasions, steps into a 22-runner Heritage Handicap that looks tailor-made for this progressive gelding.

**SATONO REVE** — 4:35 Newmarket (July Cup, Group 1), 10/3

Christophe Lemaire reunites with Japan's top sprinter, who finished a nose behind Almeraq in the Royal Ascot Jubilee. Trainer Noriyuki Hori has freshened him up since and the straight six-furlong Newmarket track is a better canvas for his explosive finish than the undulating Ascot course. An open Group One at 10/3 is hard to resist.

All the best

Darren Power
