Have you heard about the wisdom of crowds? It's the idea that the average of a group decision is often better than that of one expert.

There's a book and a Wikipedia page if you want to know more.

We have nearly 70 sources of racing selections adding to our database daily, so back in September I decided to have some programming done that found the most tipped horse aech day so we could record the results.

I suppose I expected a decent strike rate but maybe the selections would be overbet!

We are on day 61 now and what we have is a 33% strike rate and a 33% ROI at BSP.

Pretty good!

But the biggest surprise was that one of the selections last month won at 16/1 SP.

I checked back and five tipsters selected Beckford's Folly and it was the most tipped horse of the day.

Looking back now I can see that the gelding fitted a system we have talked about before (Godolphin/Buick/Appleby) and maybe that is why it was heavily tipped.

Anyway, very interesting and will be interesting to see how these selections pan out over the coming weeks and months.

If you're interested you can see the results sheet for what I'm calling the Bet of the Day here  https://memberarea.co.uk/results?id=125

All the best
