triple figure ROI, yes please
A nice win for the free bet I shared yesterday. Smart Value Tips also had a 14/1 each-way placer on the account.
The 100/1 suggestions didn't place. I would say I enjoyed watching them with my big priced ticket but the fog meant that we couldn't see anything that happened in the back straight.

An excellent day all the same and a good start for anyone who joined yesterday with + £83 on the day to £10 stakes which was a 118% ROI on the day.
Today Martin has three account bets and I have the first of those for you below.
For members he has another angle to look out for and honestly I'm wondering if we can persuade Martin to write for the magazine because he's sharing some excellent content in his posts to Smart Value Tips members!

Here's one of today's bets (The message was sent to members at 8:32 last night)
Friday Jan 16 13:28 Market Rasen Henrysbrotherjack 1.00 Point Win & Place (Betfair)
Olly Murphy has a terrific record at Market Rasen in January 13r 5w 7p including 2 winners, admittedly short priced favourites, at this meeting last season. Has 3 entered tomorrow. Hold the Serve should win the Novice Hurdle (4r 3w 4p at course in this discipline during January) but skinny odds doesn't appeal. However Murphy's record in Handicap Hurdles during the month at the course is solid; 6r 2w 3p with tomorrow's jockey Lewis Stones riding a winner in this discipline last January. Feel 10's is real each way value based on the trainers consistent stats.
Keep a future eye on FJ Brennans SEAHOUSES from the same race. Horse has run well at the track and with Isabelle Ryder aboard but trainers January course record is pretty dire so cannot make this a selection. There are a 3 scheduled meetings at Market Rasen in February, a month where the horse has performed well in the past. Maybe one for the tracker?
Stop Press: Just went to check if the price had changed much overnight and seen that this is a non runner now, so will go with this smaller bet on a big priced fancy in Dundalk.
Friday Jan 16 18:15 Dundalk Never Shout Never 0.50 Points Win & Place (Betfair)
Andrew McNamara has a solid 5 year record at Dundalk in 4yo+ Handicaps
- 19 runners : 5 wins (26%) and 7 placed (37%)
- 7 runners : 2 wins and 3 places in January.
These overall and monthly stats for this discipline are the strongest in the race and at best priced 14-1 seems overpriced. Interesting jockey booking with Gavin Ryan taking only his second ride for the stable, the only previous one being a 4th place finish at 33-1 in a Down Royal Maiden in June 2024. Tricky draw but hopeful of a place at least (extra place advisable) and better if everything falls right.
