A punter just came up to us after the race and said I bet €20 on Whirl @ 5/4 (number 5) but you have put it in as €20 on Tropical Island (number 5 @ Galway) @ 50/1.

Talking of bad luck, we had a lesson in the frustrations of value betting yesterday.
John Burke was clear that Best Secret was the most likely winner of the first at Goodwood yesterday but the colt was not a value bet so we bet a couple of losers instead 🤣
Seriously though you have to make value bets to win in the long term and sometimes that means you have to watch the better horse romp home without your money!
Let's see if we can do better today.
