We have racing at Pontefract today, so we play the draw again…

As per Dave Renham's research we have a low draw advantage at 5 furlongs, 1 mile and 1 mile 2 furlongs.

The 2:05 and 2:35 are two divisions of a Novice Stakes with most of the runners unraced and only pedigrees to go on.

And of course, the draw. Each division has 9 runners so the first third of the draw is stalls 1 to 3.

The 2:05 has an odds on favourite drawn in stall 1. I can't be betting odds on against unraced horses that could be anything so if I play it will be to back the horses drawn 2 and 3 in the place only market where I can currently bet both for a small profit if either places.

In the 2:35 only one has raced before and the low third draws are all big prices. The place only prices are a bit stingy at the moment but I will likely bet draws 1 to 3 in the place only market.

The 3:35 is a 1 mile 2 furlong Handicap and Handicaps is what the research was based on. The first and second favourite are drawn wide and middle and I have already backed the horses drawn 1 to 3 to place.

The last race on the card is a 5 furlong handicap with 11 runners, so the first third will be stalls 1 to 4. The first and second favourite are drawn middle.

The 33/1 outsider is drawn 2, again I will play in the place only market, but that market has a huge over-round at the moment, I may be able to dutch together the low draws.

It's a busy day for a Monday with a lot of selections from Matt's Micro Systems to look at also and I will be looking at those next.

Platinum members can pick up those selections here https://www.oncourseprofits.com/system-selections-for-monday-14-apr-2025/

Good luck with all your bets today.

All the best
