Quick draw McGraw

I didn't play the draw at York yesterday, got caught up in other things, but I see that in the 3:13 the first three places were filled by stalls 1, 2 & 3.

And there was a low drawn 7/1 placer in the 2:42. I don't think I missed much. I wouldn't have played that tricast, which paid about £60.

If you're playing along we only have the 2:10 and the 4:55 today

The 4:55 is not a handicap, which doesn't mean the bias doesn't apply but it does mean that just backing them blind on the understanding that they have all been weighted to have an equal chance is not the case.

The 2:10 has 18 runners and four places to play for.

The low drawn horses are priced at 12/1 to 40/1.

David's research  tells us that 50% of handicaps over this distance at York are won by the bottom third of the draw, my plan is to bet draws 1 to 4 in the place market with a decent stake and maybe a small stake on each in the win market.

In the 4:55 the market only really gives a chance to four or five and being a Novice Stakes there isn't a lot of form to go on.

The second favourite Tadej is drawn two I might have a small bet on that one.

If you didn't pick up Ben's Handicap Sleepers report yesterday you can still get that…
