Zero sum game – you’ve got to go against the crowd to win big
After mentioning Options Trading the other day reader Gez suggested I read The Turtle Traders I started reading it yesterday.
I'm not far into it yet but this quote chimed with me…

Trading is a zero-sum game…
… No trader can profit without another trader losing.
Betfair is a zero sum game, if we disregard the commission, Betfair always gets their slice.
The point is that we have to go against the crowd to win because it is a zero sum game and the money we win comes from the crowd.
