We have a lot of system selections on the list today but frankly I've not had the time to look through them yet, so I'm sharing a bet from Rory Delargy's Racing Consultants service instead.

Rory has two bets today and if you'd like the other which Rory says will blow rivals away today then you can take a £1 trial here

The one I'm sharing is

2:05 Market Rasen – Class 4 Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase 3m 3f 123y

A few of these have questions to answer on grounds of stamina, consistency or attitude and the one that stands out on recent evidence is Percy Veering, for whom fitness shouldn’t be a concern on his return from a break and he ran as well as he ever has when an excellent half-length second of 8 to Pats Dream at this track in November. The winner has shown improved form for a change of stables and the pair were well clear in an attritional contest on testing ground with rail movements adding a furlong to the official distance.

Percy Veering has had wind issues over the years but racked up a hat-trick after a breathing operation last season, and his return to form last time coincided with another procedure to aid his breathing. His record after a 6-month break or longer reads 212 and his form figures on his first two starts after wind surgery are 2112. He’s sure to be ready here, and looks more reliable than The Questioner, who hasn’t been seen over fences since disappointing at Sedgefield in March 2023. He also ran below form at that track last time and needs to prove he's as good as he was.

Of the others, Basford has been well placed by Jennie Candlish, but doesn’t relish a battle while course specialist Giovanni Change is nowhere near as consistent as he once was. Fern Hill and Fairlawn Flyer are in danger of losing their way.

Good luck with all your bets today.

All the best

Darren Power
