GG – selections inside

A good day yesterday with members of Victor Value and Pep's Big Race Tips coming out in front.

But the highlight of my day was Witness Stand winning at 25/1 which was tipped by Brett Love, by the way I have a discount coupon for Loves Racing (LOVE50TO1)

For the free tips I shared, we made a good profit but it was a bit frustrating.

We've all been there, found a selection we like, told everyone we like it, then backed something else.

John Burke had three he liked in the Colm Quinn at Galway and advised bets on two of those but not the one that won at 12/1.

It was still a profitable day for the Victor Value service and for our free tips.

Before I get to today's free tips just a reminder that if you want to learn how to trade football matches for almost guaranteed profit that you should get on Clive Keeling's list, once the season starts he'll livestream some trading sessions where you can see him win money and copy him if you want to follow along – Click Here

Let's see if we can build on yesterday's profit and I'm going to stick with Alex and John.

Alex has three today.

I have the first of those for you, if you want the other two you can try Pep's Big Race Tips for just £5 for 14 days, money back if not satisfied – Click Here for that

13:20  Goodwood  Sudu  1.00  Point(s)  Win

Sudu has looked like a different horse stepping up in distance since handicapping. He was desperately unlucky at Newbury on his penultimate start, where he got boxed in. He made amends next time at Epsom, where he romped home by 7 lengths. Admittedly, that was a much weaker race than he has on his hands today, but he couldn’t have done it any easier and there is a promise of more improvement to come.

For our second bet we turn to John Burke who has an offer for Goodwood week and it includes all his Galway selections as well as the Goodwood action.

Victor Value members always get the added bonus of a breakdown of how John sees the race and as an example here's what he said about the Fillies Handicap

3:45 – British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap (Class 2) – 1m 2f

Looking at the last nine year’s five 3-year-old and four 4-year-old fillies have won this handicap. And it’s two from the classic generation: Quebella and Model Yuko that are vying for favouritism

Quebella has been steadily progressive on all four starts finishing fifth in a Listed race over C&D before not getting a clear run in the straight when a 4½ lengths 3rd of 11 on handicap debut at Southwell 17 days ago. There should be more to come from here and she’s got good claims.

Model Yuko made all to win at Wolverhampton (1m½f) last time. She’s another progressive 3-year-old filly and the step up to 1m 2f could unluck further improvement on handicap debut. Looks a big contender.

Wonder Star was an easy winner of an Ascot maiden on her seasonal return in May before running poorly in a Listed race at Newbury just eight days later. A 74 day lay off suggests she wasn’t right that day and she’s very interesting on handicap debut off a mark of 82.

Ashariba landed a handicap hat trick at the end of last season. Stepped up on her Epsom seasonal return when a 1½ lengths 5th of 11 at Newcastle 34 days ago. Sent off the 11/4 favourite last time suggests connections think she’s on mark she can win off. Yet to race on ground quicker than good to soft though and is drawn out wide in stall 14.

Power Of Destiny was a head runner-up in last year’s race when trained by Sir Michael Stoute. Now with Ralph Beckett she looked on a good mark when a short neck 3rd of 12 in a similar fillies’ handicap at Lingfield in January. Has run below her best on three subsequent starts but the trainer knows how to win this having saddled the winner three times since 2022.

Goodwood 3:45 – Wonder Star (1 Point Win)

We've got a new tipping competition starting on Monday, more on that in a moment. First, earlier in the week I urged you to check out Sean Trivass' research on trainers who school well and have their charges jumping proficiently on their first run. I've been following these, low stakes, and since we published on…

  • Strike Rate > ROI

Ride Like A Girl won for us yesterday and when one wins comfortably like that it's not unusual to question why I went each-way for my bet.   The thing is sometimes getting a return is more important than maximising profit. Losing runs are what kill most punting ambitions, people can't get through a long losing…
