Big priced selections inside
Smart Value Tips added a little to the tally yesterday with a placer at 3.13.
That puts them at just over £450 profit so far in February to £10 stakes. Not bad for just 9 days betting all at BSP.

Tuesday Feb 10 14:25 Limerick Coffeys Forge 1.00 Point Win & Place (Betfair)
Evening everyone,
Busy day tomorrow with 3 selections, all look decent each way value. Hopefully we can continue the current good run of form.
Limerick’s 14.25pm race is 14-runner Handicap Hurdle that, on digging through the numbers, turns out to be thin on positives. Very few trainers arrive with anything resembling a solid statistical case.
The one that stands out is COFFEYS FORGE, from the Sean Aherne yard, with Brian Barry again taking the ride. Barry was on board Hesgonethatway for us at the weekend and has now ridden Coffeys Forge on all three starts since the gelding joined the stable from Gordon Elliott late last year.
From a trainer perspective, Aherne does tend to place his Handicap Hurdlers well at this time of year. Over the past five seasons in February, with horses that have both seasonal and previous handicap experience, his record reads 12 runners, 2 winners and 6 placed.
Although Aherne is not a frequent visitor to Limerick during February, his rare runners here have generally run with credit: a winner in 2007 and placed efforts in both 2009 and 2022. One further small but interesting angle is the removal of headgear. Coffeys Forge wore a hood on his last three starts, but that is dispensed with here. Aherne has a quietly effective record with horses switching from a hood to no headgear, posting 2 wins and 4 places from 7 runners.
In a race where the majority of the field lacks any real statistical substance, Coffeys Forge looks to bring one of the stronger profiles into the contest. At around best priced 11-1, he shapes as the best each-way value on offer, particularly if enhanced place terms are available.
All the best
Darren Power
