For this month’s Research Corner piece, we are going to focus on a potentially profitable Sire angles involving New Bay.
New Bay
At the time of writing New Bay is standing at Ballylinch Stud which is nestled in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The current stud fee is €37,500 and he started his career as a stallion in 2017.
Being a son of Dubawi he was seemingly destined to be a decent runner at the track and as a 3yo he was placed in the French 2000 Guineas and then went onto win the French Derby before finishing 3rd behind Golden Horn in the Arc. His record as a new sire on the block with his UK and Ireland progeny reads as follows:-

The progeny also seem to improve with experience as can be seen with the following data which shows the number of previous runs for the progeny:-

It is quite a busy table but if we focus on the early runs we find the following Strike Rates:-
Debut 11%
2nd Run 18.18%
3rd Run 19.75%
4th Run 19.72%
5th Run 28.33%
