The Retirement Plan – Part II
Hi all,
For new readers we will recap the premise of this on-going series which began last month with the catchy headline of
Retire in 10 years with £905,539.40 in the Bank starting with just £100
The original article relating to the Retirement Plan can be found here
In essence the piece talks about achieving a nominal profit each day and then reinvesting that to compound the growth.
We decided to use the selections from the Soccer Bank Builder service details of which can be found here
Results to date
We started on the 1st of August and using a daily target of 1% growth of the original bank, 100 pounds, and as of the 14th of August the original bank (100pts) had grown to £106.40 and there had been 12 winning days and 2 losing days.
For the purposes of good housekeeping, it makes sense if we detail how the rest of August went, and going forward stick to reporting on full completed months.
Picking up where we left it the 15th through to the 21st of August produced 7 straight wins, and then on the 22nd we hit a dreaded 0-0 when the selection was a home win. That knocked us back by 6.61 pounds and also meant the Catch-Up Period (10 days) kicked in with the aim of getting us back on track.
The next two days, Aug 23rd/24th were winners, but then we hit another loser when Liverpool and Brentford ended 2-0 which was 1 goal shy of the over 2.5 goals selection.
The next selection won, then we hit another loser on the 27th when Galatasaray failed to beat Young Boys in a Champions League qualifier. That put is back to £109.87 and the target stakes were recalculated.
The remaining 4 days of August all produced winners and as a result we ended the first full month with the revised bank of 122.39. Although this is below where the target was, it still represents a growth of +22.39% on the original £100 bank.
Of the 31 selections during August, 26 of them were winners and this represents a very impressive 83.87% Strike Rate.
Yes, the prices are on the skinny side but combined with the Retirement Plan process they have produced a solid growth with one month under our belts.

Until next time
Steve Carter
